Sewing Therapy Tips & Tricks | How To Downsize The Waist

Welcome back to Sewing Therapy! I’m, Sara.

Today, we’re tackling an interesting and very useful project: downsizing the waist of a pair of pants, from the front. While waist alterations from the back are more common, there are certain times when a front alteration is called for, like this one! The back of these pants has an elastic waistband, making the front a simpler choice for alteration. I’ve already completed one side for a quick Instagram reel, so let’s get started on the other side.

All About Neckline | Sewing Therapy Tips and Tricks

Hello and welcome back to Sewing Therapy. Today’s video is a mashup of a series I did on my TikTok called “All About Necklines.” In this video, I’ll show you four different methods for finishing necklines including all my tried and true tips for a pucker-free finish. I’ll show you how to do a Bias Bound Neckline, a Bias Facing Neckline, and my favourite method, How to Sew a Neck Facing. Additionally, I’ll show you how to make a Neckline on Knits, a great skill to have so you don’t have to keep stretching to fit your sweatshirt over your head.

You’ll want to save this video to have it ready as a reference whenever you get to the neckline portion of your pattern!
