How To Sew A Visor With A Perfect Brim | Sewing Therapy Tutorial

Hello, Sara here. My new video about the Melilot Sunni Visor is up! This is the second video for the Melilot Sunni Pattern, the first being the Sunni Hat, which you can find on my YouTube Channel, Sewing Therapy. This video is for the Sunni Visor version of the pattern and after making both, it’s so hard to say which one I prefer as both are amazing. The large malleable brim is my favourite feature.

Melilot Patterns is generously giving our Sewing Therapy community a discount until August! Use the code “SEWINGTHERAPY” for 20% off ALL the Melilot Sunni Pattern all through the summer!

You can purchase my Sewing Therapy Labels here.

My favourite feature of this hat is definitely the wide brim and with some effort, it’s just the right stiffness and bendable, thanks to the flower wire. I’d love to hear how your hat turned out! Please tag me and feel free to leave any thoughts and questions in the comments section below. And if you want to see the Sunni Visor version, check out that video on my blog and let me know which Sunni you prefer. Until next time, 안녕!

Sewing Tips | How To Draft Your Own Sewing Pattern -Part.1 Maple Skirt-

Hello, Sara here. Today’s sewing tip is something new and special: drafting your own sewing pattern! Hoping that this skirt will become your favorite, I’ve prepared this video. I’ll walk you step-by-step on how to draft your own Maple Skirt pattern using a piece of cardstock.

You probably know me well enough to know how much I love skirts and dresses. I took everything I love about a skirt and put those elements into the Maple Skirt. This Skirt really is the perfect skirt pattern for me!

The Maple Skirt is an A-Line Midi Skirt with the maximum volume that your fabric allows. This skirt is adjustable and customizable, meaning every Maple will be different and unique to you.

As this is not yet an actual skirt and is still just a drafting of the pattern, you are free to adjust the volume and length. And if you’re confident enough, you can go ahead and sew yours right away. But if you need my help, please wait for the Part 2 video which is a step-by-step sew-along video.
