Tie Dress No.2 View B is here. Hi everyone, and welcome back to Sewing Therapy! I’m Sara.
I hope you all enjoyed our first journey with the Wrap Front and short ruffle sleeve. Today, we’re shifting gears to explore a slightly different vibe for the Tie No. 2: the Button Front paired with the Elasticized Ruffle Long Sleeve.
Refined Structure: While the Wrap Front is all about grace and simplicity, the Button Front adds a touch of structure. It gives the dress a more “finished” and refined look that works beautifully for professional or more formal settings.
Beginner-Friendly Buttonholes: Don’t let the buttons intimidate you! I’ve designed the construction to be incredibly straightforward. If this is your first time sewing buttonholes, don’t worry—I’ll be right here to walk you through every single step.
The Elegant Long Sleeve: This version features our long sleeve with an elasticized ruffle. It creates a gorgeous, airy, and voluminous silhouette.
Expand Your Wardrobe: A quick reminder that these sleeves are fully compatible with your other favorite Sewing Therapy patterns—including the original Tie No. 1, the Rectangle Top, and the Infit Top. The possibilities for mixing and matching are endless!
Perfect Your Length: If you’re aiming for a specific custom fit, remember that adjusting the height of the lower tier is the simplest and fastest way to achieve your ideal dress length.
Note on Construction: > The steps for constructing the optional pockets and the skirt are identical to the Wrap Front version. To keep things concise, please refer back to the [Tie No. 2: Video 1] for the step-by-step tutorial on those specific parts.
Now that you’ve seen all the versatile options for the Tie No. 2, I’m so curious to know—which combination is your favorite? Will you be sticking with the classic Tie No. 2 sleeves, or are you planning to “hack” it with a sleeve from one of my other patterns?
I truly love how this community fosters so much creativity and growth. Seeing your unique versions is what keeps me inspired! I think your 2026 is off to a wonderful start with this project, and I wish you nothing but joy in your sewing journey.
Thank you for being part of this. I’ll see you in the next video!
