Closet Core Pattern’s Amy Jumpsuit | Sew Along Tutorial from Sewing Therapy

Hello and welcome back. I’m Sara, here to sew along with you, walking you through each step so that you can successfully complete your very own Amy Jumpsuit by Closet Core Patterns! The Amy Jumpsuit is one of my #makenine2021 projects and I was so happy to finally get to it. This terrific pattern combines the grace of a flowy slip dress with the comfort of a jumpsuit and it’s beautiful to make and to wear. I love how swishy these wide pants are when I walk and I might have to make one more with a more flowy fabric.

Generally, I prefer garments with buttons or elastic over those with zippers, so my initial plan was to modify it without a zipper. But after doing a quick poll, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that many of you wanted to learn how to attach an invisible zipper, so I modified my plans and here’s a tutorial for the Amy Jumpsuit with an invisible zipper!

For those who are attempting an invisible zipper for the first time, I highly recommend that you watch my “How to Sew an Invisible Zipper” tutorial video and practice with a regular zipper prior to sewing your Amy Jumpsuit.

Currently, it’s fall on the west coast, which means chilly and rainy days, so I made an Amy Jumpsuit with a wider neckline and armholes that can be worn over tops. This can also be a no-zipper modification!

Are you ready to begin? Let’s get started!
